Won Myunghoon (Lv. 80)[2] was a famous hunter, who's looked up to as the idol of all spearmen hunters.
Appearance[]
Won Myunghoon, a man in his early 30s, has a flashy, celebrity-like appearance. He wears a semi-formal suit with intricate patterns, complemented by various luxury items. His flawless, smooth skin and strikingly white teeth add to his polished and extravagant look, making him stand out more like a star than a hunter.
Personality[]
Won Myunghoon is a cunning and opportunistic person, much like a hyena. He preys on the weak but retreats when faced with someone stronger. While he presents a charming and confident image in the media and entertainment world, this is merely a façade. In reality, he is manipulative, self-serving, and quick to exploit others for his own gain. His true personality is far from the glamorous image he shows to the public.
Abilities[]
Although spears are tricky to use and difficult to master, Myunghoon pushed through and even made a textbook on spearmanship 10 years ago, which helped Taekyung a lot in his own training during his younger days as a hunter.[1]
Background[]
He debuted as an A-class hunter on his 20th birthday after his college entrance exam. As a hunter with good looks and star quality, he's appeared in a lot of movies, dramas and commercials. He's also a great singer and has released an album. He's got so much charisma that people calls it getting the Myunghoon syndrome.[1]
As he was gaining popularity 8 years ago, he collaborated on a B-rank gate raid with A-rank hunter, Do Minsoo, with whom he was very close. However, the Myeongdong station gate ended in a variation gate tragedy, where 30 died including Minsoo. All of his drama and music deals were canceled, and he was accused of tax evasion. Court trials were held to investigate the incident, and it took years before Myunghoon was acquitted. Though he was found innocent of tax evasion, all sorts of tabloids and speculation articles had already greatly damaged his public image. He did appear in a few programs after that, but he eventually retired from showbiz quietly as people lost interest in him.[3] He was even disqualified as ranker. Now almost no one recognises him anymore.[1]
Last year, he began thinking it over and took over a guild from an acquaintance who was about to retire, changing its name to Star Guild. While it was originally one of the top three guilds in Incheon, it only ended up in a few articles.[1]
Plot[]
Black Wyvern’s Nest[]
Won Myunghoon, angered by Jin Taekyung’s refusal to join his Star Guild, attempted to impress him by proposing a cooperative raid with the Peach Guild. To flaunt his guild’s power, he guaranteed ownership of the gate’s loot while secretly altering the gate location from Manticore Jungle to the far more dangerous Black Wyvern Den.
During the raid, he gifted Jin Taekyung a Yeti Necklace, which granted invulnerability to extreme temperatures but made the wearer a target for dragon-type monsters. Despite his schemes, he soon realized that Jin Taekyung’s strength far exceeded his own.
When recruitment failed, Won Myunghoon plotted an ambush near the exit gate with his guild members, but both he and his forces were easily defeated by Jin Taekyung and Butler Kim. Although Jin spared him initially, Won attempted a sneak attack, only to fail and be killed by Jin Taekyung.
Trivia[]
- He spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year to maintain his appearance.
- Jin Taekyung admired Won Myung-hoon not for his flashy looks or celebrity status, but for being an A-class hunter, a master of the spear, and a ranker. Inspired by him, Jin chose the spear when he became a hunter and studied Won Myung-hoon’s spearmanship textbook until it was worn out.
