Without going to sleep, Taekyung continues training by cultivating his qi. Elsewhere, Wikyung receives a report from his brother's appointed servant and rejoices that Taekyung is finally serious about practicing his martial arts. However, Wipeng brings him back to earth by reminding him of the issues with the elders and about Taekyung's horrendous reputation, which is also causing Wikyung to lose his position to the elders. In a cunning play, he decrees a "punishment" upon Taekyung: For breaking the fourteen sacred laws of the family, he orders Taekyung to be locked away in solitary confinement indefinitely. Taekyung throws a tantrum, until Wipeng puts him in his place and explains the situation using spiritual sense, and that this punishment is just for show since Taekyung has been under heavy scrutiny and may be at risk of greater consequences.
