Jin Taekyung is the main protagonist of the novel and manhwa series Log-in Murim. At 27 years old, he began as an F-rank Hunter in South Korea, struggling at the bottom tier throughout his career.[7] His life takes a dramatic turn when he encountered the ARK-2020 device, which transported him into the body of another Jin Taekyung, the third son of the prestigious Taiyuan Jin Family in the Murim world, a realm dominated by martial artists.[8]
Thanks to his adventures in the Murim, Taekyung was able to learn and master the method of Mana Cultivation. He has since attained the status of an A-rankHunter while also becoming famous with his exploits.
In the Murim world, he earned titles such as the "Sleeping Dragon of Shanxi" and "Disciple of the Fire King", reflecting his esteemed status among martial artists.
Taekyung is a tall, well-built, and athletic man with a naturally charismatic and friendly presence. Despite his impressive physical appearance and being considered handsome, he remains humble and somewhat oblivious to the attention he receives especially from women. During his school days, he was popular due to his friendly and approachable nature, often spending his time on the playground and getting along well with both boys and girls. However, his lack of awareness when it comes to romantic feelings made him miss many signs of admiration from others. [9]

Taekyung is infamously known for his cheeky and playful demeanor, but beneath that, he is sincere, tenacious, and deeply honest. Those close to him recognize his unwavering dedication and trustworthiness, making him someone they consider the most genuine person they know. Before his transmigration, he was stuck at F-rank throughout his career but persevered with an upbeat attitude as took care of his family after his father's tragic death.
Upon entering the Murim world, he found himself inhabiting the body of Jin Taekyung, a notorious troublemaker and playboy known for indulging in gambling, drinking, and other vices.[8][10][11] Despite being born into the prestigious Jin Family of Taiyuan, Taekyung had little to no martial arts training and was widely regarded as the disgrace of his family.
Having been spoiled throughout his life, he lived alone in a multi-story residence, where he dedicated an entire floor to clothing while keeping only a small single-room library. However, rather than housing valuable texts, most of the books in his collection were erotic novels, with only a few scattered martial arts manuals.[12] He lacked even the most basic martial arts knowledge, and it was said that his only real skill was knowing how to flee from danger.[13]

Background[]
Taekyung is a 27 year old hunter from South-Korea, who's been stuck at F-rank throughout his career.[7] When he first started out as a hunter 7 years ago, he was so nervous he wasn't able to speak properly.[14] There's not much information on his novice days. He joined the Picnic Guild about a year ago, where he ran gates constantly. All until the Sangdong District Gate Incident, of which he was the sole survivor. After the incident, he disappeared for about half a year and was interrogated by a lot of different inspectors. He recently returned to the guild, only to get fired during a reorganization. However, he probably got fired because he became a burden due to all the inspectors.[15]
The same day he got fired, he picked up the ARK-2020 and was trapped in Murim Login.[16] Upon returning from Murim, he began questioning if anything that had happened to him were real and began looking into the origins of ARK-2020 to no avail.[?] Thus he joined his friend Im Hyukjun in raiding an E-rank gate,[?] where they unfortunately encountered two mid-tier rare boss monsters.[17] Fortunately, when he was about to get struck down, the game system finished synchronizing and he regained the powers he had in Murim Login.[18]
After returning from the Murim world, Taekyung's newfound abilities propelled him to an A-rank Hunter status in South Korea. His exploits and strength garnering him significant fame. He became known as the "Toll Gate Hero". His transformation from an F-rank Hunter to an A-rank powerhouse exemplified his resilience and adaptability.
Through his adventures in the Murim world, Taekyung underwent significant development. He learned and mastered Mana Cultivation, a skill that allowed him to transcend his previous limitations. His inhumane stamina and rapid progression in martial arts led his brothers, Wikyung and Mukyung, to consider him a prodigy. He achieved the status of a first-rate warrior within months, a feat that typically takes a lifetime for others.
