Jin Mukyung (진무경), also known as the Heavenly Jin Blade or Heaven Shaking Sword (Hangul: 진천검, Hanja: 振天劍),[3][4] is the second son of the Jin Family.[5][6] He spent most of his time in Henan province, [7] where he was a student at the Heaven's Gate Temple[8] before leaving the school after getting his brother's letter for aid. After returning home, he heard rumors of Taekyung suddenly becoming a hero of the murim.
Wikyung describes Mukyung as a nice enough kind of guy, although he's often misunderstood due to his cold eyes, short temper, and general obession with martial arts.[7] Mukyung once called himself a cold human being during his training with Taekyung. When Wikyung tries to tell him the truth behind the main family and why head elder Jin Baekyang betrayed them, Mukyung couldn't have cared less since it's about something that happened way before they were even born, and that he'd rather spend his time practicing martial arts.[9] Mukyung dislikes dependency and is the type who prioritizes efficiency above all else with Taekyung describing him as a try hard that does nothing but train.[10] He initially tried to weasel his way out of going to the Mount Heng Sword Sect, until he was enticed by the prospect of reading their peak realm martial scrolls, which he as a martial scroll fanatic couldn't overlook.[11]
Although he can be quite severe towards his inferiors, Taekyung notes that he's the kind of guy who's only nice towards women. This indicates he has a very strict chivalrous ideal.[12]
Abilities[]
Mukyung has mastered both the Jin Family's sword and spear technique and is able to quickly adapt the technique to different weapons interchangeably. In fact, he left for the academy since the Jin Family had nothing left to teach him.[13] He is considered among the top among the Ten Dragons and Phoenixes.[14]
Background[]
He's a genius swordsman who reached the peak of Murim at the young age of 20, and is a renowned martial master in the Shanxi province.[5] At the start of the story, he was still in Henan, and Wikyung says he hasn't seen him in over 3 years.[7] During the war against the Mount Heng Sword Sect, Wikyung sent him a message informing him of their situation.[?] However he only arrived after the decisive battle at Eight Spring Gorge.[7]
For the past three years, Mukyung has been trying to break through a bottleneck on his conception and governing vessel meridians.[10]
