Gate

The gates seem to be dimensional rifts caused by the great catastrophe. They are considered extremely valuable, for their ability to provide unlimited amounts of high energy items like magic gems, and even gave rise to the profession of hunting.

Inside the gate, anything that is not powered by magic cannot be used, as they deteriorate quickly and become useless. Because of this, hunters must use gears forged from magic gems.

Regen refers to the amount of time that must pass in a gate, before the environment and monsters that were destroyed to be reverted to their original state.

A variation gate refer to cases where you encounter a stronger monster than waht the gate's rank would suggest, such as a D rank monster in an F rank gate, or a B rank monster in a D rank gate. Why excatly this happens is still unknown, though it is suggested that some monsters realize they can grow stronger by consuming magic gems.

Whenever a gate is incorrectly labeled, such as two mid-tier rare monsters appearing in an E-rank gate, it's required by law that the government compensate any damages to gears, medical bills and any raid rewards lost. Then the team's leader must go to the Civil Service Department to give their report.

Ranks

Gates are ranked according to the ranks of the monsters found inhabiting them.

A-rank gates usually takes a week to regenerate. Most also expect it to take at least 3 days to finish raiding an A-rank gate.

History

During the great catastrophe 30 years ago, the gates served as the invasion route taken by demon king Asmodeus. After his death, the gates only appear once or twice every 1-2 years. Since, the gates has become the main source of income for hunters. In South Korea, gates became the property of the nation and are considered to be as valuable as a diamond mine. Lately, gates has begun appearing more frequently. In the first year of the story, gates has already appeared three times in Korea alone, a topic that were to be talked about all over the news.
